The Almost Impossible Corner
That overlooked bit of space at the corner of the road, between the bus stop and the Co-Op, big enough for a shed but not for a shop, where the rubbish collects in the wind and where daisies somehow grow out of the cracks in the pavement in summer. Maybe you hadn’t even noticed it existed until today, when some benches and plants and an Almost Impossible Installation appeared. Or maybe you helped build it. How many Almost Impossible Corners could an Imaginary Museum have?
The Long Time Lounge
There’s so much we don’t know about time. We so often say we haven’t got enough of it. And yet it’s also hard to think in Long Time instead of Short Time, to ensure better futures for everyone and for the planet.
The Long Time Lounge is filled with installations, objects and ideas from artists, scientists and all kinds of people thinking about and exploring Long Time.
You can’t be a Long Time somewhere without being comfortable. So there are sofas and beds and tables and beanbags and cushions and places to plug in. Spend as much time here as you like.
Enter through the gift shop
Suddenly that boarded up gift shop in the old shopping mall at the end of the High Street has the lights on in the evening. There’s music playing, the doors are open and you take the escalator up through floors filled with trees and plants, butterflies and bees. People are swapping seeds and building insect houses or just snoozing in hammocks. There’s nothing for sale, so at the tills you can ask any questions about anything you want to know more about.
